Why does my zoom slider not work in outlook – none:
First, in Outlook and Outlook you can click and drag the zoom slider in the bottom right of the message window to the right to increase zoom level. Outlook , , and , , , have a zoom slider in the main Outlook window status bar (on the right side). Use this slider to adjust the zoom.
Why does my zoom slider not work in outlook – none:
To view mail that is not synced down, click on ” Click here to view more on Microsoft Exchange ” at the bottom of the message list.
You can also click the View on Server button on the Folder tab to view messages not synced locally. In Outlook , shared mailboxes do not currently have the link or active View on Server button to view more messages on the server.
The sync settings do not apply to the following Outlook items. These folder types are synced in full. Outlook applies the sync setting to shared or delegate folders and mailboxes, and public folders that are cached. It does not apply the sync settings to the new Groups feature as Groups are cached in in a separate data file account-name.
Users who need to limit the amount of data cached locally can set up filters on each folder. To do this, right click on the folder and choose Properties, Synchronization tab.
Click the Filter button and create a filter. You’ll need to repeat this on each folder where you want to limit what syncs. Because only Public Folder Favorites sync, removing folders not needed offline from the Public Folder Favorites list will help to reduce the size of the cache.
This is the slider in Account Settings that lets you keep a few weeks or months of messages synced to the computer. This setting is in the Outlook Group Policy templates and stored in the registry. Use 0 for All messages. DWORD: syncwindowsettingdays Decimal Value: Valid entries are 0, 3, 7, or 14 in days Set both values to 0 to sync all; otherwise the one not used should be set to 0.
She also created video training CDs and online training classes for Microsoft Outlook. I’m attempting to change the slider via GPO as you mention above, but my test workstation is not acquiring the slider change. It would be nice if Outlook remembered that you clicked the link to retrieve more items and not force the user to click the link every time they navigate to a folder in this state.
Any thoughts? So in this day and age with the “cloudification” of everything under the sun pun intended why is Outlook caching anything?? The Outlook Web App doesn’t cache its email..
Gmail doesn’t cache its email. You just hit the server s. Is the new Outlook moving to a “no cache” state No cache state is “classic Exchange” or “online mode” – that is what most people used in the early days of Exchange server. The reason for caching in Outlook desktop is to improve response times so using remote servers isn’t painful, especially on slow connections, and to provide offline access – no internet, no mail when using online mode.
The web app doesn’t cache by default but it is possible to enable caching for it in IE to provide limited offline access. Just tested this, and thought I would reply – after setting this registry setting or applying the GPO, the Sync Slider indeed gets set for the value you specified. However, the slider remains “active” in account settings – you can move it to another setting if you want.
Bottom line: The Sync Slider is locked down via GPO, but the slider is not grayed out – it is still active, but has no effect any more. Schedule Management. Calendar Printing Tools. If Outlook tells you it needs to be restarted, close and reopen Outlook. Note: after you test the macro and see that it works, you can either leave macro security set to low or sign the macro. Whenever someone sends the email or I send with attachment, then that respective attachment icon appears too big in the email It would be nice if the width of the attachment box could be reduced.
Unfortunately, it can’t be changed. We can’t even hide the attachment line, like we could in older versions. Whether this can be modified with Single click option mouse click. Thank you. Outlook with Word set as default editor. Conversation view disabled. References set as indicated. Redemption in use. Still get a Compile error: User-defined type is not defined.
The VBA does not show up in the Macro list either. Any ideas? I love it and it worked flawlessly. I recently upgraded to Office and every time I start Outlook, the Redemption user agreement appears and needs to be completed to open Outlook. Any thoughts on how to suppress this? I’ll shoot him another email – I asked him about it in a thread about another issue and he might have missed it.
I’ve been using this code for years and love it but it has suddenly stopped working. We are using Outlook I’ve got my Word reference set and Macros set to allow them to run.
Anyone else seeing this? No error messages? This should give us an idea where its failing. Set to break on all errors and no error handling in the code.
Still no error messages. If I go in and manually run it then the zoom does work for that session of Outlook. If I close Outlook and reopen, then the Zoom is back to The first option of “remember my preference” when setting the zoom worked! Is this a new addition?
I remember a few years ago the only way to achieve this was through the VBA code option which is what I googled and how I ended up on this page. Thank you so much, saved me a lot of hassle. My zoom is deactivated and my screen is tiny. How do I reactive the zoom so I can set my screen a bit bigger? Schedule Management.
